JOB SUMMARY: The Community Engagement Coordinator supports Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s mission by fostering community engagement, strengthening relationships, and driving development campaigns. This role identifies strategic outreach opportunities, coordinates volunteers, and cultivates donor relationships to build lifelong advocates. Reporting to the Director of Development and Philanthropy, the position collaborates with the Marketing Team to align development campaigns with branding and outreach strategies. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about community impact.
This is not a supervisory role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Research and identify community events, activities, and engagement opportunities.
- Recommend the most impactful events for participation and determine the appropriate representatives to attend.
- Cultivate relationships with businesses, schools, civic groups, and nonprofit organizations to enhance partnerships.
- Represent Goodwill at community events, meetings, and forums to promote programs and services.
- Maintain a calendar of engagement activities and ensure strategic participation.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing donor events, donation drives, and community engagement initiatives.
- Secure in-kind donations to support event success, including auction items and event supplies.
Communications & Campaign Support
- Work with the Digital Media Coordinator to develop and implement fundraising and outreach strategies.
- Contribute content and ideas for newsletters, brochures, and promotional materials.
Volunteer Coordination & Stewardship
- Recruit, coordinate, and engage volunteers to support events and initiatives.
- Support and steward the GenG Emerging Leaders Board and Impactors to cultivate long-term advocates.
- Track and report volunteer participation and impact.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in community engagement, event planning, or nonprofit development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and in-kind donation acquisition is preferred.
- Reliable transportation, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, and car insurance with a clean driving record are required.
