JOB SUMMARY: This position plays a key role in providing training support through the Goodwill Career Pathways Institute (GCPI), reaching clients across various locations, including the Goodwill HUBs, the Goodwill Central Oklahoma Corporate office, mobile units, and re-entry services at prisons within the service area. The trainer is an expert in Goodwill programs and is responsible for delivering internal training, facilitating Goodwill certificate programs, and conducting mobile services for community partners. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the Director of Community Training and Employment Programs to manage relationships with partners and clients in the assigned counties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for facilitating GCPI certificate and employment that are offered under the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools (OBPVS) for the designated counties assigned. This includes ensuring the programs are delivered effectively and in compliance with OBPVS standards.
Prepared to train in the following micro-credential certificate programs: Employment Essentials, Network Cabling, Unarmed Security, Customer Service, Workplace Computer Skills, and Digital Literacy skills. This includes delivering comprehensive training in these areas to ensure participants gain the necessary skills and certifications for successful employment.
Responsible for facilitating workshops on a variety of topics, including but not limited to Cover Letter and Resume preparation, Basic Computers, and other relevant skills. These workshops are designed to support members of the community, helping them build essential job readiness skills.
Provides training in essential areas such as MS Office, Google Apps, and Basic Computer skills. This training is aimed at enhancing participants' proficiency in widely used software and technology, equipping them with the skills necessary for success in various professional environments.
Responsible for maintaining the virtual classroom environment on the Google Classroom platform. This includes ensuring that all course materials, assignments, and resources are up to date, organized, and accessible to participants, providing an effective and seamless online learning experience.
Provides training with partner organizations as needed. This involves traveling to various locations to deliver training sessions, ensuring that the training is accessible to participants in different communities and that partner organizations receive the support required for their workforce development initiatives.
Able to deliver training for the Re-entry Employment Preparation Program, (REPP) training for prison-based programming throughout Goodwill’s service area. This includes facilitating courses such as Employment Essentials, Skills Academy, Network Cabling, and Whole Person courses, aimed at helping individuals prepare for successful re-entry into the workforce upon release.
Assist in the development of training programs under the supervision of the Director of Training and Employment Programs. This includes designing and creating training materials and curricula that align with organizational goals and the needs of participants, ensuring the training is effective and meets the required standards.
Maintain accurate documentation and administration of training records and materials. This includes keeping accurate and organized records of all training sessions, attendance, materials, and participant progress. The trainer also performs assessments of training effectiveness and reports results, ensuring that outcomes are tracked and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Serves on committees as needed on behalf of Goodwill Central Oklahoma, contributing to organizational initiatives and projects. Additionally, the trainer participates in staff, inter-agency, or other project coordinating meetings, collaborating with internal and external teams to support the successful execution of programs and services.
Public speaking and teaching.
Possible travel required up to 70% of work time, depending on work assignment.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Education, Business Administration, or related field, but certifications and experience are a must.
3 years' experience in a public speaking or teaching role required.
Clean driving record, driver’s license and valid insurance required; must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.
Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment preferred.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other team members.
Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Apps, and Outlook and able to navigate the internet easily.
Must be eligible to work with children under the age of 18 without limitations.
Responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma's safety policies, programs, and procedures. The trainer must adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and codes, attend safety training and meetings, and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and participants.

Must be effective at communicating vocational counseling and helping others shift behaviors toward gaining employment.
Must be willing and able to work with inmates in a prison facility.
Must provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a climate controlled, office or retail environment some of the time, but also in prison sites which may have variable temperatures.
Travel to a prison facility up to 4 days each week may be required or travelling training on behalf of the organization.
May be required to occasionally stay overnight on behalf of the organization.
This position has a variable schedule and will be coordinated with the supervisor assigned.

Works 40 hours per week or more with additional hours and weekends when required.
