PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Development Operations Coordinator supports the organization’s growing Development, Marketing, and Communications teams and will support the Development team in growing organizational revenue to advance Goodwill’s Mission. The successful candidate will be meticulously detailed, possess strong project management skills, and will represent Goodwill NYNJ to current and future donors with a high level of poise and discretion. General Job Duties of the Development Operations Coordinator:
- Support donor stewardship efforts
- Track all donor touchpoints within moves management systems
- Draft donor communications including acknowledgement and thank you letters, program updates, pitches, and meeting requests
- Support coordination of donor stewardship events
- Ensure all donor stewardship plans remain on track; report weekly on progress towards stewardship goals
- Prepare meeting briefs for CEO and senior leadership
- Support special events
- Provide coordination support across all special events
- Maintain event timeline, revenue and budget trackers
- Coordinate event vendors
- Conduct prospect research
- Utilize a range of wealth screening tools to conduct prospect research for current and future donors and funders
- Review prospect research and qualify donors to appropriate donor portfolios
- Conduct prospect research for prospective corporate and foundation funders; prepare research reports for development team

Manage donor database
- Input all donations gifts into Raiser’s Edge ensuring the accuracy and timely entry of all donation entries
- Develop reports and dashboards; regularly review and report on donor analytics
- Ensure database is structured to meet needs of development team
- Ensure all donor data is inputted in an accurate and timely manner
- Produce and follow up on donor invoices; ensure closure of gifts and pledges in a timely manner
- In conjunction with Communications Coordinator, maintain all donor list segments for print and digital fundraising efforts
- Serve as primary lead for Round Up program
- Act as the primary Development liaison for the in-store, point-of-sale donation program, Round-Up
- Liaise with Donated Retail Goods team to regularly review data against goas; identify high performing stores and sales associates; and identify areas of opportunity
- Liaise with finance department to maintain monthly reconciliation of gifts received on a timely basis
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual data reports; prepare data for regular reporting of Development team KPIs
- Process all invoices and bills for development team
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in nonprofit development or comparable experience.
- Experience with database management, gift entry, acknowledgment, and reporting using Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database
- Strong verbal and written communicator; ability to draft and edit high quality written communications to external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with key donors, funders, corporate partners, and other external stakeholders with a high level of poise and discretion
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to conduct prospect research; knowledge of various prospect research tools preferred
- Strong project management skills; ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure projects remain on track
- Demonstrated knowledge of donor stewardship and the ability to creatively support development of touchpoints for donors
- Demonstrable organizational, professional, problem solving, customer service, and administrative skills
- Ability to achieve outcomes with minimal supervision
- Enthusiasm for the mission of Goodwill
