Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented External Affairs Events Coordinator to join our team! The External Affairs Events Coordinator will support the Marketing Projects Manager with enhancing Goodwill Industries of Kentucky's brand and public image and aligning communications efforts and mission messaging across the state. The coordinator will assist with executing external affairs events, including but not limited to public programs, community fairs, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, conferences, and community meetings, to help educate the general public and inspire involvement with Goodwill Industries of Kentucky's mission. Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with various Goodwill program, retail, and administration staff to increase awareness of and support for Goodwill Industries of Kentucky strategic goals.
- Create an annual event plan, prioritizing Goodwill’s strategic goals.
- Support an annual event plan, in alignment with the External Affairs team, that supports Goodwill through the growth of marketing efforts.
- Work closely with Goodwill's internal and external program representatives create community facing events that are effective in garnering new clients.
- Develop relationships with community partners that help clients with barrier-removing programs and services.
- Work within a budget to produce high-quality events throughout the state.
- Work with marketing, communications, development, and public policy team in event production and planning.
- Assist with providing leads about employer/participant success stories as available.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years experience in event planning.
- Must demonstrate proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite i.e., Word and Excel Proficiency
- Must have passion for the mission of Goodwill and the people we serve
- Must be very detail oriented
- Must have outstanding communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of diverse people.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have valid driver’s license and insurance and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions).
- Travel across the state and to other locations beyond the assigned work location is required.
