Basic Function
The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for securing new funding partnerships that expand Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgias mission impact. This individual will lead the identification, outreach, and cultivation of new corporate and foundation funders, stewarding them toward significant financial commitments. They will play a key role in securing major gifts, mission-aligned corporate partnerships, capital and comprehensive campaigns, and long-term funding agreements. The role requires exceptional prospecting, proposal writing, and relationship-building skills.

The Director will play a crucial role in enhancing mission capacity and developing resources, turning philanthropic contributions into tangible, positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
Mission Advancement:
Demonstrate core values of Goodwill Industries by modeling service, ownership, accountability, and respect.
Alignment with Dr. Edgar Helms faith-based approach to eliminate poverty through a hand up ministry.
Prospecting & Lead Generation:
Develop and implement a strategy to research, identify, and establish connections with new corporate and foundation funders.
Conduct proactive outreach to secure at least two meetings per month with new corporate or foundation prospects to present funding opportunities that align with their goals and priorities.
Leverage CEO, Board, and affiliate leadership to cultivate and solicit prospective corporate and foundation partners. Develops and executes stewardship programs.
Proposal & Grant Development:
Serve as the lead writer for compelling new corporation and foundation grant proposals and sponsorship requests.
Align corporate giving strategies with Goodwills social impact goals, including workforce development and education.
Create customized sponsorship packages that extend beyond events to long-term mission partnerships.
Corporate & Foundation Partnership Development:
Develop and implement strategic business partnerships, including employer engagement, workforce collaborations, and cause marketing campaigns.
Lead corporate donor stewardship by coordinating high-level meetings between partners and the CEO, senior staff, and, when applicable, board members to ensure continuing partner cultivation and recognition.
Collaborate with Marketing to create integrated corporate engagement strategies, leveraging PR, digital storytelling, and co-branded campaigns to highlight impact/success stories and drive donor engagement.
Ensure corporate recognition across marketing channels, including social media, annual reports, and impact stories.
Represent GIMG at fundraising events and lead corporate activations at major engagements like Masters Week in Augusta.
Fundraising Growth & Metrics:
Drive annual fundraising growth to secure at least $2 million, focusing on securing funding from new sources.
Ensure at least 50% of funds raised annually come from first-time donors.
Develop a corporate and foundation engagement strategy that grows revenue year over year by 15%.
Establish key performance indicators for the annual foundation business plan, including the number of new funders, total funding secured, and the repeat funder engagement rate.
Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and track donor engagement using moves management strategies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Superior oral and written communication and grant writing skills.
Deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape and trends.
Ability to align fundraising efforts with Goodwills mission and values.

Excellent interpersonal skills required to relate to donor prospects, volunteers, and colleagues.
Excellent management skills, including negotiating skills and ability to influence as needed.
Commitment to staying informed about trends in grant-making and leveraging best practices in grant writing to maximize funding potential.
Good interpersonal skills to work productively with others.
Sound and accurate judgment with an ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions. Includes appropriate people in the decision-making process and ensures timely decisions are made.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM technology.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel is required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
A bachelors degree is required. Advanced degree preferred. At least 7-10 years of demonstrated successful foundation, corporate, and fundraising experience capital campaign experience preferred.
Proven track record of successfully fundraising principal gifts ($250,000 plus gifts) from foundations, corporations, and high net-worth individuals.
Experience in crafting compelling grant proposals that successfully secure funding, demonstrated by a track record of winning grants from diverse sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
Experience working with high-level executives and stakeholders.
Experience in capital/comprehensive campaign leadership roles.
