General Summary:
Assists in the daily management of our Ecommerce operations to meet established revenue and margin objectives. Contributing to the DGR purpose, generating funds to help people in our community to live, work and thrive through housing, employment, and supportive services.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains direct reports.
- Oversees the daily workflow of their department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with management of the E-Commerce process and productivity to ensure quality and efficiency to meet established revenue and margin objectives.
- Champions process improvement in the E-Commerce operation as the market and our agency’s objectives evolve.
- Monitors team’s performance by setting clear expectations and standards, completes timely performance reviews, and focuses on staff development.
- Helps to develop staff in achieving standards and goals, earning their support and cooperation.
- Supports operations, training staff and ensuring the implementation of best practices and procedures to drive revenue and ensures E-Commerce security, storage and inventory control.
- Maintains and updates training to educate store employees on the donations to be posted online.
- Utilizes various financial, production, customer service and inventory management tools. Analyzes the results and working with Ecommerce manager to determine root causes of problems and suggest alternative solutions and new best practices.
- Provides excellent customer service, always responding quickly to customer phone calls and emails from buyers and vendors.
- Shares research of various online sites and other sources to improve item descriptions/templates and to determine potential values.
- Remains current with various software updates and determines their impact on our item listings, pricing strategies, and shipping procedures.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition and Ecommerce Manager to proactively build their team.
- Performs duties of Ecommerce Manager in their absence.
- Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Working knowledge of methods, techniques and equipment for handling, grading and storing materials in an E-Commerce store.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills to interact with the public.
Travel Required: Occasional travel up to 10 %.
Required education and/or work experience:
- 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience, in an online operation.
- High school diploma, post-secondary courses or degree preferred.
