General Summary: Develops jobs within the community or at Goodwill for persons served. Assists in teaching job tasks, teaches and promotes independence of person. Educates and supports employers in the placement of disabled persons. Promotes awareness of Goodwill services within the community.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides job information related to the vocational goals of persons being served. Develops individual plans for job development in partnership with persons served, case manager, local employers and other involved parties.
- Provides disability and related education to employers, co-workers and other community contacts of persons served. Assists employers in identifying, modifying or eliminating architectural, procedural or attitudinal barriers to employment to the employment of people with disabilities. Provides job analysis, consultations and recommendations for job adaptions, restructuring and creation.
- After placement with an employer, assists in the initial training and identification of ongoing support needs of persons being served. Promotes integration and natural support structures at places of employment. Provides follow-up services for persons served as defined by individual plan and for employers as needed to maintain positive relationships.
- Regularly communicates with Program Manager, Case Manager, Support Team and others associated with the individual employment plans. Maintains current documentation of each person’s plan including DVR reporting, updating Human Service Database, employer contact information, placement plans, progress reports, actual hire reports and person specific behavioral tracking.
- Provides personal care assistance, as needed by persons being served. Assists case manager in identifying and coordinating transportation needs of persons served.
- Confirms that the principles and practice associated with supported employment services support ADA, Affirmative Action, Wage & Hour and related employment laws.
- Restructure jobs and identify adaptations to accommodate individual needs, if necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or Associate degree and minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
- Interpersonal skills to present information to small groups or individuals, and to develop and maintain working relationships with community partners.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity working with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation a plus.
- Ability to travel throughout the Dane County area, including to locations not served by public transportation.
- Use of personal smart phone required. (Stipend amount based on FT/PT status )
