Position Summary: The Case Manager II - YYAWEX will enroll, support, and coach youth and young adults in the Youth and Young Adult Work Experience (YYAWEx) Program which connects individuals between the ages of 16-24 to paid work experiences that improve their career opportunities and concurrently support economic growth throughout Pierce County. The Case Manager II - YYAWEX will connect participants with available employers within Pierce County, supporting their professional and personal development through the program
Salary: $18.13 - $19.71
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Case Manager II - YYAWEX responsibilities includes the following and other duties as assigned:
- Assist in recruitment, enrollment, and onboarding of youth and young adults for program enrollment; travel to partner agencies to promote the program
- Educate students about the YYAWEX Program and other community resources available to them
- Input and monitor data systems including CaseWorthy and Monday with required information for member payroll functions and onboarding.
- Create and maintain service plans for youth that detail barriers, strengths, and objectives to support potential employment or post-secondary training; assist participants in goal setting and maintain progress throughout training
- Attend all meetings and trainings as required by supervisor.
- Assist in educational and work experience placements
- Communicate effectively with youth participants and other partners through email, phone, in-person meetings, etc.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records, reports, and case notes regarding participant progress in CaseWorthy and Monday upon request for other program staff.
- Assist in conflict resolution between the young adult and their host agency. Assist young adults in any issues that may arise regarding pay, working conditions, schedules, absences, etc.
- Teach or coordinate academic readiness and job readiness skills; provide job preparation training
- Assist participants with applications, interviews and job retention
- Assist in the transition from the program to employment or educational opportunities. Refer participants to outside services and follow up to ensure connection
- Assist in classroom activities as needed.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3 years in case management, , education, human services or related field
- Experience working youth and/or young adults desired
- A demonstrated ability to plan, organize and present information to students.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population.
- Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills.
- Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and average. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra when working on spreadsheets. Ability to create and manage departmental budget.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel and PowerPoint.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies and employees.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Washington State Driver's License required.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
