What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employer Engagement Specialist position at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont?
Strategically identifies and develops partnerships with employers and business partners to develop employment opportunities for participants that are in alignment with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont’s (GISP’s) mission, vision, and values.
Consults with employers and business partners to identify talent needs and promote GISP talent pipeline (participants) to meet employer hiring needs.
Uses program design skills to translate employer hiring and talent needs and consults with internal service designers (e.g. Goodwill U, Career Navigators) in new program development.
Delivers and coordinates within designated Workforce Services areas (i.e. Goodwill University, Trade School, Career Navigation, and Job Resource Center) to develop expertise in the services offered and the participant skills developed by the services.
Executes business plans focused on understanding the business community and workforce development environment; discovering and prioritizing opportunities; and initiating and growing relationships.
Designs and conducts creative and engaging employer events; virtual and in person. Implement effective event follow-up strategies to grow and develop relationships.
Represents GISP at local business meetings, networking events and conferences.
Collaborates with industry associations to obtain relevant data that assists with forecasting viable and sustainable new skills training opportunities in the GISP market area.
Contributes ongoing “industry perspective” on requirements for Goodwill University training.
Maintains timely documentation of activities and services in accordance with requirements, and compiles and disseminates reports as requested by GISP. Enters relevant data into the respective participant management database.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Business, Psychology or a related field and two years of experience in business-to-business consulting working with businesses and/or persons seeking career development services, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
