What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Planner position at Goodwill Mission Services/Administration?
The Career Coach/Planner will identify, enroll, and coach program participants in the IYIP Program, which serves youth ages 16-24 with justice system involvement, parent/pregnant, or lack of employment. The Career Coach/Planner will support participants and ensure success with training and employment and provide outreach, individual coaching and planning, documentation, reporting, and follow up.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Assist with outreach and enrollment for youth with justice involvement, parent/pregnant, or lack of employment.
- Work with participants utilizing a strengths-based approach to complete individual service plans
- Counsel, encourage and motivate participants and provide case management on an on-going basis
- Assist with barrier identification and removal to ensure success in training and employment
- Coordinate eligibility, secure required documentation, and maintain participant files in accurate and confidential manner
- Become familiar with policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure compliance with all guidelines
- Make appropriate resource referrals, provide follow-up services and track outcomes
- Maintain confidentiality and protect customers’ personal Identifying Information (PII) as required by law
- Serve customers that reside in Winnebago County
- Monitor and document participants’ participation and progress toward employment and education goals
- Maintain participant files in compliance with program requirements and guidelines
- Show flexibility in working with youth with barriers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of workforce development and/or youth development experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication
- High attention to detail
- High customer service focus
- Ability to travel to all locations within Goodwill’s territory on a regular schedule. Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance preferred.
Compensation: $22.50-$26.00/hourly
