What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach (part-time) position at Goodwill Mission Services/Administration?
Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a part-time Job Coach for our Rockford store on McFarland Road. This position is responsible for assisting participants with barriers with training, case management, and support while performing work in Goodwill’s retail store locations. Assists with meeting program goals and outcomes, while also ensuring personal growth for program participants within the work environment. This position requires working a combination of days, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The Job Coach works closely with Mission Manager to accomplish program goals.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Work with individuals with disabilities to coach and motivate them to perform work successfully.
- Create effective solutions and accommodations for individuals with barriers to employment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Placement Plans (IPP) by establishing appropriate goals.
- Coach participants, including modeling work and motivating.
- Prepare workstations for daily work activities.
- Work proactively with retail store staff and ensure outcomes match with retail goals.
- Manage work assigned to participants and assist if needed.
- Ensuring all documentation in ETO is completed timely including individualized plans for participants.
- Responsible for enforcing program guidelines and following policies.
- Assist by attending community outreach events in various communities to discuss Goodwill services.
- Facilitation of trainings and meetings for participants.
- Work with Trial Work participants from the Division of Rehabilitation Services. Services include training, observation and required reports.
- Communicate effectively with collaborating agencies including DRS (Division of Rehabilitation Services).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required, higher education preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities, understand, and communicate with diverse groups. Three to five years of experience preferred.
- Ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy; word, spreadsheets, managing computer files, finding and communicating information, and presentations.
Certificates/Licensing:
- Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to maintain Office of Inspector General and Rule 50 training.
Compensation: $17.50 - $21.00/hour
