What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Call Job Coach (part-time) position at Goodwill Mission Services/Administration?
Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking to hire a part-time On-Call Job Coach for the Rockford area. The On-Call Job Coach is responsible for providing on the job training and support at the participant’s place of employment in the community or at the Goodwill retail store.
Job responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Provide individualized job coaching and support services following the participant’s employment plan for systematic reduction of job coaching.
- Evaluate and assess participants while on their job site.
- Monitor and document participant’s progress on tasks.
- Provide customized instruction and training to the participant per the employer.
- Communicate effectively with employer to monitor participant’s progress and address any concerns.
- Ability to assist with staffing meetings for the participants.
- Communicate effectively about participant’s progress and status with, Full Time Job Coach and Goodwill District Lead.
- Assure participant confidentiality.
- Attend required Goodwill trainings.
- Follow the routine duties set forth by Mission Services staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED; higher education preferred. CPR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities and understand and communicate with diverse groups; the ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work; and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete case noting and reports outside of job coaching either virtually or at the Goodwill office.
- Must have reliable transportation to various worksites with proof of insurance, flexibility and willingness to work day, evening, or weekend hours. Must successfully complete OIG training annually, and complete required training and program guidelines to meet CARF accreditation.
- Must be willing to travel between the Rockford, Freeport, Sterling, McHenry, Huntley and Ottawa areas if needed.
- Must accept an assignment at least once every sixty days. If this requirement is not met, position will be terminated
- Must give twenty-four hours’ notice if unable to complete an assignment.
Compensation: $20 - $21.50/hour
