Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Locations: Goodwill North Central Texas --- 4200 Airport Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas
Salary: Based on Experience
Work Hours: FT (40 Hrs. per Week) Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

General Job Duties: Compiles and reports on payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and miscellaneous deductions to be withheld from time sheets and other records. Enters data into computer files (either manually or electronically), computes and reviews wages including deductions and posts data to payroll records. Prepares and issues paychecks, either by direct deposit, by physical check or pay cards. Prepares, files and ensures payment of all payroll taxes, child support and garnishments after each pay period. Issues checks for terminated and exiting employees. Prepare and files quarterly payroll tax reports, as well as any other payroll related returns. Prepares and files Annual Unclaimed Property report to State of Texas. Prepares, issues and files W-2s on a timely basis. Reconciles the direct deposit amount monthly and serves as a backup to other accounting duties as assigned.
Tools and Equipment Used: Computer and peripherals, word processing, spreadsheets and software programs.
Skills and Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in Accounting is highly preferred. Minimum of five years of experience processing payroll in UKG, utilizing HR/Payroll software package, and completing associated Federal Reporting is required. Knowledge of standard payroll policies, procedures, and regulations. Knowledge of mathematics, ability to solve and analyze problems including calculating ratios. Strong data entry and/or word processing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, current general accounting practice and agency accounting policy and procedure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills while also maintaining the strictest confidentiality.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Inside office conditions. Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. on occasion with or without assistance.
Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9 and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
