About the Position

The People Engagement Manager provides resources and support to staff members facing personal, professional and/or work-related challenges. This position also provides leadership and management for continuing education areas within workforce training and community outreach. The position oversees outreach, engagement, and the development of partnerships with community and business entities through its award-winning Internship Program.

Employee Assistance

1. Assist employee’s in addressing personal, professional and job-related concerns by providing resources to address specific concerns
2. Develop and implement empowerment training sessions for employees, focusing on areas that are known concerns.
3. Assist employees with completing the tuition assistance, citizenship and Foundation grant applications.
4. Provide follow-up as requested to Foundation grant recipients who need assistance in navigating personal challenges.
5. Develop and maintain an updated list of resources available to staff in different wage brackets.
6. Evaluate trends and arrange for programing that addresses identified trends

Employee Engagement

1. Partner with HR to develop, promote, and provide employee engagement programs.
2. Survey employees/hold focus groups to better understand what benefits/programs/etc. will improve employee engagement.

Internships

1. Coordinate and provide onboarding of new interns.
2. Serve as a resource to interns while they are going through their internship.
3. Survey interns to learn how we can improve the internship experience.
4. Provide direction to managers, including establishing program area goals, and metrics for program evaluation. Assist in the development of new programs and establish procedures to ensure program success. Use data and program metrics to determine viability of courses and programs.

Partnerships Internal and External

1. Serve as the staff liaison to residents interested in volunteering to work one-on-one with employees to improve English skills, prepare for the citizenship exam, GED, etc.
2. Develop and nurture relationships with outside organizations to ensure a pipeline of student interns.
3. Develop and support outreach initiatives that promote programs to prospective students, partners and businesses.
4. Direct and collaborate business and community outreach, marketing initiatives, and other promotional activities that lead to new program development, increased program awareness.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree requited. Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Social Work or Education Preferred.
2. Master’s Degree in Education and/or Social work a plus.
3. Prior experience in developing partnerships preferred.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience working with a diverse workforce required.
5. Must be flexible and adaptable, as this is a fluid position.
