Position Title: Corporate Controller
Position Reports to: President and CEO of Goodwin Knight
Career Level: Manager
Location: Colorado Springs
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000

Role Summary: Responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for approximately 45-50 entities, including timely and accurate financial reporting, tax return preparation oversight, accounting operations, loan covenants requirements, and safeguarding the company’s assets (e.g., insurance). Responsible for maintaining the integrity of all financial information and enhancing accounting procedures and controls.
- Supervise Assistant Controller, Staff Accountant, and Project Accountant
- Presents accurate & timely financial statements to management
- Manages cash & forecasts upcoming cash sources & uses
- Establishes, implements, and documents the company’s financial policies and procedures
- Leverages and engages, aligns, and develops a high-performing team
- Identifies & reports other important financial metrics (e.g. rental rates, occupancy, rent growth, turnover, etc.)
- Establishes adequate internal controls to safeguard company resources
- Serves as the point of contact for all internal and external financial audits
- Provides analysis and evaluation of business strategies; assists with company strategic planning
- Provides management with timely reviews of organizational financial status and progress
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance
- Maintains the strictest confidentiality regarding any/all financial and personnel matters
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Minimum required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent
- Six to Eight years of related experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP with respect to:
- Multi-level consolidations with various waterfalls of profit and loss and distributions
- Construction development
- Apartment complexes
- Related party transactions
- Experience reviewing tax returns (Partnerships – Form 1065) at a high level
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Able to manage multiple priorities and workflow
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Basic competence in duties and tasks for supervising employees
