- Analyze and resolve power quality issues, including voltage fluctuations, harmonics, power factor concerns, and system transients, through investigation and field-testing.
- Perform post-event analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of power system disturbances.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as MPUC Ch. 320, ANSI C84.1, and IEEE 1547.
- Support grid modernization initiatives, including Distributed Energy Resource (DER) integration and interconnection best practices.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop and execute short- and long-term strategies for system reliability and power quality improvement.
- Serve as a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) in electrical engineering, providing technical guidance to engineers and other departments.
- Manage projects, including budget oversight, progress reporting, and ensuring successful completion aligned with company objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in transmission and distribution (T&D) engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in technical analysis tools, including PC-based software such as Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and ability to interpret technical diagrams and test data.
- Valid Maine driver’s license and ability to meet NERC identity verification and background check standards.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Demonstrated initiative and commitment to improving processes and achieving business goals.
