The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for recruitment, employee relations, performance management, legal compliance, benefits administration, and general support. This role will support the development of a positive organizational culture, promote employee wellness, and ensure HR policies and processes align with the firm’s goals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a strong understanding of HR best practices.
Recruiting & Onboarding:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and extending job offers.
- Facilitate the new employee orientation and onboarding process to ensure smooth integration into the firm.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop effective hiring strategies.
- Coordinate summer associate programs, internships, and campus recruiting efforts to attract top talent.
Training & Development:
- Coordinate and implement training programs, ensuring employees receive relevant training and professional development opportunities.
- Support organizational development efforts to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
- Ensure training compliance and track employee training progress.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning through CLE programs, leadership training, and team-building events.
Legal Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure the company is compliant with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, WC, OSHA, and other legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting on compliance-related matters.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to workplace safety regulations and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Keep updated on legal trends affecting HR and recommend policy updates as needed.
Employee Relations:
- Address employee relations issues and provide guidance to management and employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Act as a resource for conflict resolution, workplace issues, and performance management.
- Work closely with employees and managers to promote a positive and respectful workplace culture.
- Update and maintain Human Resources Policies and annual employee handbook.
Culture & Team Building:
- Coordinate company-wide and team-building events to promote engagement, collaboration, and a positive organizational culture.
- Support the creation and maintenance of a strong, inclusive workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Foster an environment that promotes work-life balance, diversity, and inclusion.
HRIS Management:
- Manage the company’s HRIS system (BambooHR), ensuring accurate employee data is maintained.
- Generate HR reports, track employee performance, and assist with workforce analytics.
- Manage annual performance evaluation process and provide recommendations for improvements and succession planning.
Wellness Program:
- Oversee the company’s employee wellness program, promoting employee health, well-being, and work-life balance.
- Organize wellness initiatives and events to engage employees and encourage participation.
- Partner with COO for annual benefits renewal negotiations and enrollment.
Confidentiality & Sensitive Information:
- Maintain the confidentiality of employee records, sensitive information, and HR matters.
- Ensure all HR activities comply with company policies and legal requirements regarding privacy and confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience with a strong background in recruiting, employee relations, legal compliance, and organizational development.
- SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR preferred.
- Clifton StrengthsFinder Coaching Certification a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS system.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
