Accounting Clerk Job Description:
We are looking for an accounting clerk to join our accounting team. The accounting clerk joins a busy accounting team by processing a high volume of daily financial transactions. Under the direction of the accounting manager, duties may include operating accounting databases (our industry-specific software, QuickBooks, and others), update and maintain digital financial records, and reconcile in-house reporting against financial statements.
Responsibilities include:
· Verify and post payments received into our collections database accurately and timely, including deposit preparation, balancing and submission
· Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances, prepare reports
· Batch, match and attach vendor payments to documents
· Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to managers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
· Maintain electronic recording keeping
· Assist in processing remittances to client, reporting preparation and client account reconciliation
· Individual account reconciliation and transaction exception management
· Initializing payment plans alongside payment reminder letters utilizing our collections data base
· Assist in gathering documentation for financial audits
Desired skills and qualifications:
· Natural proficiency with numbers
· Knowledge of basic financial and accounting principles
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficiency with office productivity applications and aptitude for learning new systems
· Proficiency with basic Excel functions/manipulation
· 10-Key Calculator speed and proficiency
