Bookkeeper/Office Support Specialist
Location: 670 Superior Court, Suite 108, Medford, Oregon
Job Type: .80 FTE (32 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours)
Salary: $24.70 – $28.60 per hour, Depending upon Experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday (flexible hours and hybrid schedule offered)

Job Summary
The Gordon Elwood Foundation seeks an experienced bookkeeper who thrives in a small team environment and aligns with the foundation’s values. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and open to additional responsibilities supporting the foundation’s mission. Approximately 75% of the time is allocated to bookkeeping responsibilities and 25% to other office/program support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has strong communication skills. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, this position helps ensure fiscal responsibilities are met and works collaboratively to enhance the foundation’s impact in various arenas.

The Gordon Elwood Foundation has evolved into a small, passionate “change-making and grantmaking” organization serving Jackson, Josephine, Curry, and Klamath counties. Bookkeeping Responsibilities
· Manage Accounts Payable and limited Accounts Receivable
· Reconcile bank and investment statements, complete journal entries, and prepare financial statements
· Process bi-weekly payroll for foundation and other collaborative program(s)
· Process payroll and tax deposits and payments and prepare quarterly and year-end reports
· Analyze and prepare cash flow reports
· Support annual budget preparation
· Compile information and work with the foundation’s tax advisor to prepare annual tax returns
Additional Responsibilities
· Maintain office files, personnel records, service contracts, and policies
· Maintain general office maintenance and equipment issues
· Support collaborative work with planning, coordination, communications, and recordkeeping
· Other duties as assigned to further the foundation’s mission
Required Education and Qualifications
· High school diploma/GED with commensurate experience and/or certification in bookkeeping
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field (desired)
· Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (desired)
· 1-3 years of related nonprofit and/or administrative experience
· Experience in QuickBooks and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
· Experience working with technology and online meeting platforms
· Strong customer service and team-oriented
· Well-organized and detailed oriented
· Ability to work independently and self-motivated
· Strong listening skills, interpersonal communication skills, and cultural agility
· Criminal background check required
