Position Summary:
The Technical Support Admin assumes responsibility for second level software and hardware support. Provides solutions related to Application and OS (Operating System) event management by using analytical skills to engineer procedures and standards to be used by first level staff and users of the applications. Using Technical Administration skills related to supporting and modifying Unix/Linux OS, Microsoft OS, RF environments, and other technologies that are required to support the business needs.
What you will do:
- Provide customer service to internal customers; including store management teams and regional support teams for first level support for software and hardware issues.
- Monitor all systems for stability.
- Diagnose and resolve customer issues, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner; collaborates with others as needed to investigate, test, and develop solutions.
- Support Telecommunication Equipment in a retail store setting. Including the CAD design of the low voltage wiring attributes for new stores and other projects, including the RFP processes to the low voltage contractors.
- Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to the appropriate people.
- Tracks all contacts, actions, and responses in the database.
- Coordinates service requests with chosen service providers.
- Orders equipment and install new hardware and software for new stores.
- Supports networks circuits ,RF, routers, and switches.
- Assist in the beta design/testing of new software and documentation.
- Supports stores through the equipment depot program.
- Manage vendor's performance to ensure all work meets quality requirements and services are provided in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Manage projects as assigned, including vendor management, asset management and procurement of assets approved via expense or capital planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm.
- Hybrid Model: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
- On-call rotation approximately every 4 weeks.
What you'll bring to the table (Qualifications)
- Desktop support experience preferred.
- Experience providing a high level of customer service.
- Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related preferred.
- Certification and experience in installing and supporting Unix/Linux environments (HP-UX Suse or Redhat Enterprise Linux) in a retail environment preferred.
- The ability to provide 2nd level hardware support on Servers, PC's, POS Systems, Laser Printers, Mobile Devices and RF Equipment. Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, e-mail and internet software applications.
- Experience with Unix and Linux operating systems, Cisco products, Window Based OS environments, and experience supporting custom applications preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints / CAD designs for low voltage wiring preferred.
