Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Coordinator with 5 years of Payroll experience in its Walnut Creek office. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Payroll Manager and is responsible for various payroll functions.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of five years of direct full cycle payroll experience in a large complex organization.
  • A minimum of three years of consistent experience using ADP with ADP Vantage, is a Plus.
  • Two years of college education with an emphasis in business or accounting is preferred.
  • Comparable work experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2016; Word, Excel, Outlook and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees from varied backgrounds and levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to multi task, juggle multiple projects and respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical, financial, legal and managerial documents and other data.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Processes Partner and Staff bi-weekly payroll using ADP Vantage.
  • Verifies accuracy of payroll data entry and compliance with the Firm’s policies.
  • Maintains payroll service reports, time records, tax filing and other payroll records.
  • Calculates termination paychecks and other out-of-cycle payroll checks.
  • Provides payroll related information relating to employee leave of absence calculations, in conjunction with information provided by the Human Resources Department.
  • Acts as liaison with payroll service.
  • Acts as liaison and works in conjunction with the Human Resources and Benefit Departments.
  • Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under tight time constraints.
  • Monitor Payroll Department email inbox. Respond to common inquires and research complex matters.
  • Provides Partner and staff employment verification as needed when Payroll manager is not available to do so.
  • Assist with special projects such as upgrades to ADP Vantage.
  • Work may require irregular hours and occasional overtime.
  • Assist with developing ADP Vantage training materials
  • Other duties as assigned.
