Position Summary
The Development Manager will play a vital role in driving the growth and sustainability of the organization by overseeing marketing systems, managing donor relations, and providing strategic leadership to the team. This position requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with strong organizational and communication skills. They will be key to integrating all aspects of development, managing projects, communicating relationships, and managing systems together.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate Cross-Development Functions
- Oversee and integrate all development functions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and coordination across marketing, donor relations, event management, and CRM operations.
- Ensure seamless collaboration between the development team and other departments to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Marketing Oversight & Systems
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing initiatives aimed at driving donor engagement and revenue growth.
- Oversee the management and optimization of marketing systems, including email marketing platforms, social media tools, and campaign tracking.
- Direct the creation of marketing materials and donor communications to ensure brand consistency and impactful messaging.
- Analyze marketing campaign performance and implement improvements to enhance donor engagement.
Donor Relations
- Oversee the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with key donors and sponsors, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor retention and upgrades, aiming to increase long-term support.
- Lead the coordination of donor recognition programs and events, including sponsorship activations and appreciation initiatives.
- Act as the senior point of contact for mid-level donor inquiries and communications, ensuring effective relationship management.
Team Administration & Event Management
- Provide leadership to the team, ensuring smooth administrative processes and timely completion of projects.
- Delegate responsibilities across team members and external partners, holding stakeholders accountable for progress.
- Oversee the coordination of team meetings, agendas, and follow-ups, fostering collaboration and efficiency within the team.
- Support cross-functional projects to ensure organizational goals are met through team alignment.
CRM Management & Donor Communication Systems
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the organization’s CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor records.
- Develop and implement workflows for donor communication, acknowledgment, and tracking.
- Train staff on CRM best practices and ensure effective use across the development team.
- Generate donor reports and insights to support informed decision-making and strategic planning for fundraising efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, donor relations, or related roles, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Extensive experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang) and marketing tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and teams, while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong collaborative mindset, with the ability to drive results through cross-functional teamwork and goal alignment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
