Position Overview:
The Development Manager will support the Director of Development in executing the school’s fundraising, donor engagement, community outreach efforts for Joshua Christian Academy. This position plays a vital role in maintaining donor relationships, coordinating events, managing communications, and building a positive presence both within the school community and externally. The Development Manager must exhibit a commitment to the school’s mission to provide affordable Christ-centered education.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Support:
- Assist the Director of Development with donor relations, including maintaining and updating the donor database, acknowledging gifts, and preparing reports.
- Coordinate and help execute fundraising events, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
- Research potential donors and sponsorship opportunities to enhance the school’s fundraising efforts.
- Support the development of marketing materials for events and donor communications.
- Maintain records of grants, donations, and donor outreach for tracking and analysis.
Relationship Building:
- Engage confidently with staff, students, and parents, fostering strong, positive relationships within the school community.
- Serve as an approachable representative of the school’s development initiatives, maintaining open communication with stakeholders.
Confidentiality & Integrity:
- Handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity, ensuring that all communications and actions reflect the values of the school.
Social Media Engagement:
- Assist with the school’s social media presence by crafting engaging content that highlights achievements, events, and community spirit.
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions, fostering a positive and interactive online community.
Grant Research and Administration:
- Research grant opportunities aligned with the school’s mission and prepare preliminary reports for the Director of Development.
- Assist in drafting grant proposals and maintaining records of grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes.
Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to plan and execute donor appreciation events, fundraising banquet, and community engagement activities.
- Manage event logistics, including venue arrangements, vendor coordination, and volunteer assignments.
Qualifications:
- Born-again Christian.
- In agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Pillars of Truth.
- Active member/regular attendee of a biblical church.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working in an office setting, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and donor database management.
- Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
