Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled BlueCat DNS Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade DNS solutions using BlueCat Address Manager, BlueCat DNS/DHCP Server, and BlueCat DNS Edge. The ideal candidate will have on-prem deployment experience, including migrating from Active Directory-integrated DNS, as well as expertise in DNS security, automation, and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Deploy BlueCat DNS solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Migrate & Integrate DNS from Active Directory-integrated environments to BlueCat platforms.
- Configure & Manage DNS zones, records, policies, and profiles within BlueCat Address Manager.
- Monitor & Optimize DNS performance, scalability, and reliability using BlueCat tools.
- Troubleshoot & Resolve DNS-related incidents, outages, and performance issues.
- Implement Security Best Practices, including DNSSEC, DNS Firewall, and DNS Edge protection.
- Automate DNS Operations through BlueCat APIs and scripting.
- Document Configurations & Procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless DNS integration.
- Provide Technical Support & Guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in DNS administration and engineering.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with BlueCat DNS solutions, including Address Manager, DNS/DHCP Server, and DNS Edge.
- Strong understanding of DNS protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with on-premises DNS deployment and migration from AD-integrated DNS.
- Proficiency in DNS scripting & automation using BlueCat APIs.
- Familiarity with DNS security concepts (e.g., DNSSEC, DNS Firewall, DNS Edge).
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BlueCat DNS certification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of IPAM, DHCP, and network security principles.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based DNS solutions (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, etc.).
