Gotham is looking for a Strategist with brand and social strategy experience to join our team. This role will contribute to strategic initiatives on a global, highly-recognized, mass beauty brand across multiple brand initiatives and integrated campaigns in different markets. The Strategist will help the client drive their business forward and move the needle towards their goal of becoming the #1 digital and social brand for Millennials and Gen Z within the beauty category.

Founded in 1994, Gotham is a multi-disciplinary, small-ish boutique creative agency in the midst of global expansion and rebranding for a new generation of creativity and clients under new creative leadership and vision. With roots in CPG and beauty, we’re used to transformation and are charting it with an independent spirit, backed by two of the industry’s most powerful networks: McCann WorldGroup and IPG.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

What you'll do:
- Have an understanding of all the ways brands connect with people in today’s world – but with a focus on social and digital content, influencer activations and beyond
- Dive into consumer insights, social listening, beauty/fashion/culture trends, platform news and updates to develop an understanding of what is most relevant to our audience and the business; share it generously with the team
- Develop the right solution for every problem by understanding the audience, setting goals, and working with partners
- Understand the creative process and be able to work with a creative team to arrive at fresh, new and interesting ideas
- Partner with the account team to ensure that strategic initiatives are relevant and actionable
- Develop good relations and rapport with the client and command attention and interest in presentations
- Currently use or learn to use proprietary strategic tools to help craft presentations, insights and briefs
- At least 2 years in social or brand strategy related experience in a creative/social/influencer agency setting
- Category experience in beauty and/or fashion is a plus, CPG/global brand experience is ideal
- Culturally astute and trend-aware; informed and interested in consumers and media behavior in markets beyond the U.S.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about brand strategy, beauty, and fashion, with a desire to work in the beauty category
- Able to juggle multiple assignments at once and work across projects with multiple contributors
- Clear, crisp and concise communicator with strong interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
