The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee the procurement process for all materials, equipment, and services needed for our landscaping projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of the landscape industry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality and service standards.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best deal.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials and equipment. Coordinate with project managers to forecast needs and adjust inventory.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage the purchasing budget. Ensure all purchases are withing budgetary constraints and find opportunities for cost savings.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor purchasing staff, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products. Conduct regular market analysis to inform purchasing decisions.
- Problem Resolution: Address any issues related to supply change disruptions, quality concerns, or delivery delays promptly and effectively.
- Reporting: Create and maintain monthly purchasing metric reports per branch requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration or supply chain management is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a procurement/purchasing
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Above average attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and purchasing software
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $80,000 - $85,000
- Bonus Eligibility: Yes
