What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Supervisor position at RBC?
- Assist in managing supplier portfolios, and establishing structured supplier relationships, while coordinating and administering supply agreements with on-going supply partners.
- Materials risk assessment and lead time profiling by supplier to benefit the materials acquisition process.
- Identifying and developing potential suppliers in support of growth and operational efficiency objectives.
- Working in concert with the production department overseeing the delivery process.
- Developing inventory systems to minimize inventory and increase turns.
- Assist in negotiating LTAs with key suppliers that established fixed pricing and shortened lead times.
- Other related responsibilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and abilities:
- 5 plus years of experience in a purchasing agent or purchasing supervisor position. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Purchasing, or Management preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills: ability to mentor, motivate and direct staff.
- Must have experience developing Purchasing policies and procedures.
- Must have experience executing vendor contracts and price negotiation skills.
- Ability to make sound purchasing decisions based on knowledge & experience.
- Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills: strong technical skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
- Experience managing a vast and diverse vendor network.
- Experience with MRO purchasing.
- CPSM, CSM, APICS or Equivalent Designation a plus!
- Comfortable in a fast paced environment with short turnaround times.
- Heavy documentation skills needed to track schedule, pricing, budgets, backorders and inventory.
- Familiar with IS9001 and AS9100
MIN/MAX: $85-$95k
