Job Overview :
Gotion is seeking a highly motivated Cell Development Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will focus on developing advanced lithium-ion battery cell chemistry tailored for Electric Vehicle (EV) and Energy Storage System (ESS) applications. You will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and validating innovative cell chemistries that meet customer and market demands for high energy density, safety, long cycle life, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and optimize advanced lithium-ion cell chemistries for EV and ESS applications, including cathodes, anodes, electrolytes, and separators.
- Conduct lab-scale material screening and formulate electrode designs to achieve performance targets for energy density, cycle life, safety, and cost.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to translate laboratory-scale designs into prototype and pilot-scale cells.
- Perform electrochemical and materials testing to evaluate cell performance and identify degradation mechanisms.
- Analyze test data and propose solutions for improving cell design and performance.
- Work closely with US OEM customers to understand their requirements and incorporate them into cell development activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and quality to ensure scalability and production feasibility of developed chemistries.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in battery materials and technologies.
