Job Summary Head Baseball Coach
The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for training and developing student-athletes for successful participation in baseball competitions. This involves instructing players in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary to achieve individual and team success. Consistent communication with athletes and parents is important and necessary.
The coach promotes a strong student-centered approach that exemplifies a respectful, inclusive and dynamic environment. This involves fostering resilience, respect, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging among athletes. Adolescents under their guidance are empowered with agency, supported within a structured framework, and mentored for growth and development.
This is a part-time, seasonal position averaging 5-10 hours per week starting April 7 - May 30. Practices last 1.5 hours each, and competitions, including travel time, can take up to 3 hours. Candidates should also be available between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm on game days, as athletes may leave during this time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Skill Development: Break down and teach fundamental baseball skills to players at all levels of ability, ensuring their growth and development.
- Practice and Game Management: Manage and coordinate practice schedules and game plans. Attend all scheduled practices and games, ensuring preparation and organization for each event.
- Team Leadership: Foster an environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence among players.
- Administrative Duties: Handle all administrative responsibilities related to the team, including managing equipment, coordinating travel logistics, and preparing venues for practices and games.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other coaches, athletic staff, and school administrators to align team efforts with the program's philosophy and goals.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all school, league, and governing body policies for safe and healthy competition.
Community Life and Professionalism
- Adheres to policies in the Employee Handbook and Community Guide
- Communicate and seek to reduce scheduling conflicts
- Meet general daily professional standards regarding attendance, timeliness, deadlines
Qualification Requirements
- Experience coaching in a leadership position
- Some college experience required, Bachelors degree preferred
- Obtain and maintain a CHRC certification from the State of Maine Department of Education
- Successfully pass a criminal and sexual offender background check
- Possess a valid drivers license
