Job Overview
This position is responsible for contributing to the success of Gourmet Boutique by providing leadership for the maintenance department. Fundamental responsibilities include ensuring systems are safe and reliable for maintaining overall plant equipment effectiveness.
This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Including correcting unsafe acts and conditions.
- Arranges for maintenance of adequate level of resources, supplies, materials, and parts so that there will be no interruption in operations due to shortages. Including establishing resource schedules to enable completion of maintenance and reliability requirements.
- Ensures all maintenance activities are tracked and documented within the CMMS System eMaint.
- Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures.
- Monitor work activities to make sure they comply with established Standards, practices and procedures.
- Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
- Identify and repair mechanical, minor electrical, HVAC and Refrigeration defects.
- Participate in RCA on equipment and process failures to provide insight to failure and suggest corrective actions.
- Mentor junior technicians on maintenance practices and all technical disciplines needed in order to be successful as a technician.
- Work Well in a team environment and understand the team is stronger as a unified group vs a team of individuals.
- Utilize the continuous improvement mindset and tools to actively participate in identifying and correcting opportunities, improving processes including participation in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, the creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in continuous improvement methodology events.
· Train operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment.
- Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).
- Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems in a timely manner at the component level on all assigned equipment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair semi complex mechanical machinery to include pumps, fans, ovens, control valves, pneumatic/electrical controls, and hydraulic systems.
- Must be able to Lead layout and installation of piping for water, gas, and pneumatics.
- Must have own tools (Required Tool List will be provided).
- Must have a flexible schedule.
- Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends if necessary.
- Experience with Rigging and lifting of mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English, preferred if can read, write and speak English and Spanish.
- Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
- Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
· Have good verbal, written communication, and mathematical skills (ability to deal tactfully and courteously/interdepartmentally as well as with co-workers and vendors).
· eMaint CMMS knowledge preferred but must have experiencing using CMMS System.
· Working Knowledge of Ovens, Burners, printers and packaging equipment.
- Experience in Leading and supervision of teams.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 Year associate degree in Electromechanical and Automated MFG, or Engineering Background in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 Years of experience in Industrial Food Manufactuting preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
- Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or bend.
- Employee must lift up to 75 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if limit is exceeded.
