What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Manager position at Gourmet Foods International?
Job Overview
Your role will oversee daily activities for shipping functions of all outgoing products, managing all moving products and materials, handling activities on the assigned shift in an efficient, safe manner as well as verifying and recording information on incoming and outgoing shipments, and providing leadership to shipping personnel.
What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
Ensure daily activities are completed.
Ensure all personnel is adhering to warehouse procedures.
Ensure all personnel are adhering to company procedures, proper material handling techniques, proper rotation practices and safety requirements
Maintain employees hours daily - monitor overtime.
Ensure working areas are maintained for next shift.
Maintain the safety, quality, and legality of food products
Things you need to be able to do:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines and be able to work under minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Carry up to 50 lbs. Push/Pull up to 30 lbs. of force. Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in. From the floor. Able to work in cold environment for an extended period of time
Things that are a plus:
High School Diploma or higher education
2-3 years of experience.
Must have a complete understanding of all aspects of shift operation.
Pallet jack certification and forklift certification are recommended
