Network Support Engineer
Job Location: Cincinnati, OH (ON-SITE)
Government Acquisitions Inc. (GAI) – is seeking a Full-time Network Support Engineer who will work as part of our team. The Network Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining our hybrid environment of on-prem and cloud-based services, networking and security products used to operate our business and track our compliance with industry specific frameworks. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs as smooth and efficient as possible, while maintaining security compliance. Must always act ethically and with integrity and honesty.
Job Description & Work Responsibilities (Tasks include but are not limited to the following):
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Supporting end users via help desk services.
- Collaborating with internal teams or vendors to execute projects.
- Leading continuous monitoring, continuous improvement efforts.
- Administering Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, firewalls, and multi-factor authentication.
- Assisting with compliance efforts for ISO, CMMC, NIST 800-171, and O-TTPS.
- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Explain complex IT concepts in simple terms and Excellent customer service skills on phone and in person
- Manage high priority projects and deliver by required deadlines.
- Quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, VPN, and controllers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education: 2 years with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or it related field or comparable time in role/experience.
Experience:
- 2 years IT experience with client, server, and network service delivery
- Advanced networking concepts, LAN/WAN/CLOUD administration and network security.
- Experience in each of the following: Microsoft Administration including Microsoft 365, Linux Server Administration
- Troubleshooting skills in a multi-user high availability environment.
Other Expectations of the Role:
- Candidate is expected to be in-office 5 days a week due to being a customer facing position, compliance and security requirements.
- You are a motivated self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment. You have strong troubleshooting skills within complex IT systems. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technology for general employees and management acceptance and use. You are service-oriented and responsive to internal customer's requests with appropriate level of urgency. You are dependable and flexible when necessary.
