Schedule: Part-time Flexible schedule (20-25 hours per week)
Government Acquisitions Inc. (GAI) – is seeking a Part-time Tier 1 Help Desk Intern who will work as part of our team.
Job Description & Work Responsibilities (Tasks include but are not limited to the following):
- Provides end user support for hardware problems with a variety of devices including computers, printers, and other devices.
- Provide end user support for software problems including operating systems, application software and productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office 365.
- Configure and install desktop computers, phones, and network
- Assist with software installs.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Residence within a SBA Certified HUBZone for the last 6 months and not planning to move.
Basic Technical Skills:
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of Azure services and cloud computing concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic troubleshooting.
Customer Service Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and provide clear instructions.
- Patience and empathy when dealing with users' issues.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Knowledge of common IT problems and solutions.
- Ability to escalate issues to higher tiers when necessary.
Education:
- High School Diploma Required
- College Coursework in Computer Science, or Machine Learning or High Performance Compute. (Preferred)
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service or technical support role is a plus.
- Familiarity with help desk software and ticketing system is a plus

- You have excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills and are able to work successfully with cross functional teams

- You are an effective communicator, both written and verbal

- You are resourceful and have good problem-solving skills
