The Role:

The Controller oversees financial management, operational efficiency, cross-functional collaboration, compliance, and data-driven decision-making while leading a large accounts team and driving strategic improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:
   • Oversee an Accounts team of over 20 with offices in Toronto and Manila.
   • Lead the Accounts Payables, Cash Management, and Financial Reporting teams
   • Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
     
     
2. Operational Efficiency:
   • Analyze current business processes and identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
   • Implement strategies and tools to enhance operational productivity, cost savings, and process automation.
   • Collaborate with teams to develop and enforce best practices across departments.
     
     
3. Support for Cross-Functional Efficiency:
   • Work closely with the management team to identify and address operational challenges in other departments, such as sales and operations.
   • Provide data-driven recommendations and assist in implementing process improvements that streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
   • Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights and tools that empower teams to achieve their objectives more effectively.
     
     
4. Leadership and Collaboration:
   • Provide financial guidance and recommendations to the executive team.
   • Train and mentor accounting staff to ensure high performance and growth.
   • Act as a cross-functional liaison, ensuring alignment between finance, sales, and operations.
     
     
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
   • Ensure adherence to government and other regulations
   • Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and data integrity.
     
     
6. Data-Driven Decision Making:
   • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards.
   • Utilize financial and operational data to recommend business improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with travel industry software is a bonus.
