GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. has an opening for a Vice President, Finance and Accounting. This is a remote position. However, candidates need to be within a commuting distance to Columbia, MD office as they will need to go into the office 1-2 times per month.
Position Overview:
GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Accounting to lead the financial and accounting operations of a $50M annual revenue, 400-employee U.S. government contractor. This role requires expertise in government contracting regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance, and a proven ability to oversee financial systems, ensure regulatory adherence, and support organizational growth in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, cost optimization, and risk management.
- Accounting & Compliance: Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, GAAP, and DCAA standards, including audits, cost allocations, and contract billing.
- Financial Operations: Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and treasury functions while maintaining cash flow and operational efficiency.
- Systems Oversight: Optimize and manage financial systems, lead ERP migrations, and ensure accurate tracking of contract types and compliance with security standards.
- Government Contracting Expertise: Ensure proper accounting and compliance for fixed-price, cost-plus, and time-and-materials contracts, and handle submissions like Incurred Cost Proposals.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (Master's or CPA preferred).
Experience:
- 10 years in finance/accounting with 5 years in leadership, including government contracting experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in government contracting systems (preferably Unanet but other Gov Contracting system still relevant like e.g., Deltek Costpoint), financial modeling, and compliance with FAR/CAS/DCAA.
Skills:
- Advanced Excel capabilities, strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
Other:
- U.S. citizenship required; preference for candidates with an active or eligible Top Secret/Secret security clearance.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000-$200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Exceptional candidates with advanced skills and experience may be considered for compensation above the range.
