An excellent client in Florida is hiring a Commercial Underwriting Counsel. The candidate MUST LIVE in Florida, or be wiling to relocate. The underwriting counsel will be responsible for handling primarily high-dollar commercial transactions and answering a high volume of underwriting inquiries from company title examiners and Florida title agents. Must have strong knowledge of commercial underwriting in Florida.

Duties & Responsibilities
- A minimum of 10 years' experience as a commercial underwriting attorney or equivalent experience.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida or will become Authorized House Counsel with the Florida Bar within 90 days of acceptance of job offer.
- Experience in handling large commercial transactions, including but not limited to underwriting various facets of creation of condominium developments and assessing construction lien risk preferred.
- Prior experience in a national business unit or national commercial services office a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess risk and address problems with a solution-focused attitude and an eye toward practicality.
- Exceptional customer service attitude and people skills in working with title agents.
- Willingness to work with other Underwriting Counsel in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong and accurate attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have an understanding of title operations, underwriting and state guidelines.
- College degree and Juris Doctorate Degree required.
- 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate title industry is required.
- Member of Florida Bar.

Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
