What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Assistant PM / Project Engineer position at Gpac?
I am partnered with a well-established Electrical Contractor who is currently interviewing qualified candidates for a Project Engineer position. This is essentially a position for an Assistant Project Manager who will be groomed for a Project Manager role within the company. The successful candidate may have a background in Engineering (Electrical or Architectural), Electrical Design, or prior experience in the field (as an Electrician, Foreman, or Superintendent). Candidates must have knowledge of the construction industry, specifically commercial and industrial general contracting. Candidates with a Construction Management Degree will also be considered for this position.
Responsibilities :
- Provides technical and on-site support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent
- Prepares and coordinates change orders and tracks them using a database
- Assists with the preparation of project schedules
- Acts as a liaison with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers. Maintains lists of addresses and numbers for these individuals. Composes and prepares correspondence
- Produces and tracks contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Collects and tracks RFI’s and submittals and maintains a database to organize this material
- Collects and processes purchase orders. Assists in the ordering of materials and supplies
- Assists with permitting issues, as necessary
- Keeps minutes of jobsite meetings
- Assist with project closeout documents
