Estimator Duties And Responsibilities
- The estimator will be responsible for working on several potential projects valued between $5M-200M.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise by defining, implementing, and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices, and procedures.
- Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the firm's strategic direction.
- Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
- Establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates.
- Oversees and supports several projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
- Negotiation bids on new build projects.
- Review subcontractor proposals and level out the subcontractor proposals.
- Create subcontractor bid scopes of work.
- Perform quantity take-offs and square foot analysis and present in an organized manner.
- 5 years of directly related experience, preferably in the commecrial/residential construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred.
- Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
- Strong management skills and ability to lead and motivate team members.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments and agencies.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and judge when to involve others.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to problem solve and generate innovative solutions.
- Efficient in Procore, MS Office, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail applications
