Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, child support, adoption, spousal support, and prenuptial agreements.
- Manage family law cases from start to finish, including filing petitions, preparing for hearings, and handling trial preparation.
- Provide legal counsel and advice to clients regarding their family law rights and options.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate on behalf of clients in mediation and court proceedings.
- Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, custody agreements, and settlement agreements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
- Stay up to date on changes in family law and relevant case law.
- Participate in the preparation and trial of family law cases, ensuring effective representation and advocacy.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 3 years of experience in family law, including experience with divorce, custody, child support, and other family-related legal matters.
- Licensed to practice law in Kansas (required), Missouri a plus!
- Strong understanding of family law statutes, rules, and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal issues to clients.
- Proven ability to negotiate settlements and handle family law litigation.
- Compassionate and client-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to family law.
