Feed Mill Manager

We are working with a leading feed manufacturer, that is looking for a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the operations of their feed facility near Rapid City, SD. As a Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of the plant, while leading a team of 20 skilled employees.

Plant Manager Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the feed plant, ensuring optimal production output and quality standards.
• Supervise and support a team of approximately 20 employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Oversee production scheduling, inventory management, and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments, including sales, distribution, and logistics.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and promote career development.
• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and work to achieve cost control objectives.
  
  

Plant Manager Background Requirements

• Proven experience in plant management or a similar leadership role, ideally within a feed manufacturing or Ag industry environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop employees.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
• Solid understanding of production processes, safety standards, and equipment maintenance.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
