GPD is looking to make Pittsburgh our next hub of Transportation and Roadway design innovation. Due to our organic growth and stellar reputation in the industry, GPD is excited to add a Bridge Project Engineer to our Pittsburgh, PA office that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and passion for championing meaningful community change that GPD is founded on. GPD Group works directly with the communities we serve for transportation, bridge, roadway, and heavy highway design.
Role Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Master's degree in Civil Engineering a plus.
- 7-20 years of experience in engineering design and documentation in Bridge Construction projects in Pennsylvania.
- Pennsylvania professional engineering registration (PE). Bridge inspection certification (CBSI) and / or experience a plus.
- Knowledge of AASHTO / PennDOT policies and standard procedures applicable for the analysis, evaluation, and design of various bridge types. Proficient understanding of performing bridge assessments and inspections a plus.
- Experience delivering PennDOT / PTC projects, City of Pittsburgh DOMI and Allegheny County a plus.
- Extensive experience with preparing bridge construction drawings, calculating bridge rebars and bridge quantities.
- Strong technical / computer software skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel), AutoCAD, Microstation and PennDOT design software programs.
- Experience mentoring and empowering engineers newer in their career.
- Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
- Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
- Experience assisting in the development and oversight of project scope, schedule, and fees for new projects and additional scope / services requested by clients that yield successful projects for clients and the Company.
- Experience supporting business development efforts including but not limited to site visits, letter of interest preparation, participation in technical societies, and client meetings.
