Overview of the Role
The Human Resources Specialist will play a major role in GPO’s hiring process. The HR Specialist is primarily responsible for successfully recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new employees in a timely manner. The HR Specialist will be a resource to hiring managers and will provide general support to the Human Resources Department.

Human Resources Specialist Responsibilities
- Post job openings and analyze the effectiveness of different mediums.
- Continually assess our recruiting efforts and stay up to date on newest trends.
- Work with the Marketing Department to create hiring content and job advertisements.
- Establish relationships with Department of Labor, local colleges, and other establishments to advertise job opportunities.
- Interview candidates with hiring managers and guide managers through the process to ensure quality hires.
- Provide position offers, create employment/compensation contracts as needed, announce new employees.
- Track time to hire data and strive for efficiency.
- Analyze hiring surveys and implement changes as appropriate.
- Administer the credit union’s onboarding process.
- Review onboarding surveys and implement changes as necessary.
- Administer employee off-boarding through paperwork and HRIS system updates.
- Coordinate internship opportunities.
- Update and maintain employee records and human resources databases.
- Assist the Human Resources Department with employee engagement, appreciation and recognition events throughout the year as needed.
- Support HR Generalist with processing payroll as needed.
- Conduct administrative HR duties such as annual reporting and other filing.
- Complete other duties as assigned in order to support the department and the Credit Union.

Human Resources Specialist Qualifications
- Associate’s OR diploma with 3 years of similar experience.
- Ability to act with professionalism and tact.
- Determined and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as take on individual projects.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Human Resources Specialist Physical Demands
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequent computer usage and screen time.
- Frequent typing and usage of fine motor skills.

Actual compensation rate will be determined based on relevant experience.
