Job Summary:
We are a Dental Service Organization headquartered in Jonesboro, AR seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the accounts payable team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payables. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, improving systems and processes, and ensuring financial integrity and compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the accounts payable team to ensure high performance and development.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor account reconciliations.
- Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and comply with company policies, contractual terms, and tax regulations.
- Manage and maintain a clean, up-to-date vendor database.
- Keep organized and accurate financial records related to payables.
- Drive process improvements, including automation and software upgrades.
- Monitor key AP metrics (e.g. Days Payable Outstanding, discount capture, etc.) and report on trends or issues to senior management.
- Strengthen internal controls and enforce compliance in the AP process.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, and other departments to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Prepare audit documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
- Oversee annual 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC filings.
- Lead AR-related system enhancements and ERP implementations projects.
- Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or other accounting certification (a plus but not required).
- Experience in multi-entity environments
- Familiarity with AP automation tools and digital workflows.
