Job Description
The Grace Christian Academy Head Track Coach oversees all aspects of the track program for grades 9-12. It is a seasonal part-time position, involving afternoons and some nights and weekends.
Qualifications: College Degree (recommended), Coaching Background, Acceptance of GBC & GCA spiritual standards for coaching.
Reports to: Athletic Director
Duties For the Head Track Coach:
1. Oversees Personnel for Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams
• Includes Assistant Coaches per season
• Includes student-athletes per season
2. Regulates student-athlete clearance
• Works with Trainer’s Room
• Sets up timely registration meetings
3. Promotes the Values of the Athletic Department throughout the entire program

4. Transportation to Athletic Contests
• Coordinates bus schedule to all athletic contests with AD
5. Game Officials
• Communicate home games with head assignor to schedule referees/officials/volunteers
6. Evaluates and Oversees Coaching Staff
• Reviews job description and expectations for all assistants
• Assess all assistant coaches and lower-level coaches by watching practice and games, and to offer guidance
• Advertises all job opening in athletics
7. Builds Relationship with league and statewide Coaches
• Represents GCA at all track meetings
• Attend and participate in TSSAA (state) Track conferences/meetings
8. Uphold State and School Rules
• Stay current with TSSAA (state) rules and regulations
• Convey new state and school rules with current BC High coaching staff
9. Assists With College Placement
• Works with Track athletes and Track Parents regarding the college recruitment process
10. Certified in State Requirements
