Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement laboratory protocols to enhance efficiency and accuracy in testing.
- Manage laboratory staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality performance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support clinical needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Analyze laboratory data and prepare reports for stakeholders on performance metrics.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies to facilitate smooth operations.
- Lead research initiatives within the laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and practices.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or Physical Sciences.
- Proven experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.
- MT (ASCP) required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Excellent leadership abilities, capable of managing a diverse team of professionals.
- Minimum of three years managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital (in non-waived testing).
- Demonstrated ability to develop protocols and implement quality assurance measures.
