Job Summary
The Sonographer will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves working closely with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging and optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts studies
- Prepare and position patients while explaining procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
- Analyze and evaluate ultrasound images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic significance
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate diagnostic information
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting issues as needed
- Document patient history, scan findings, and technical impressions in medical records
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety guidelines
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required
- Specialties in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field
- Valid Vermont state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered)
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and patient care abilities
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time opportunity available
