What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Management Specialist position at Grace Lutheran Church?
Grace Lutheran Church, a congregation of the ELCA, is looking for a Property Manager. This is a part time, hourly position with flexible hours. We are a welcoming community of faith located in the beautiful Merle Hay and Beaverdale Neighborhoods, in Des Moines, IA (named one of the “America’s Prettiest Neighborhoods” by Forbes Magazine). Duties and responsibilities are to: Schedule/coordinate all maintenance and supplies needed for the GLC. Coordinate with property related volunteer groups. Schedule the state inspections needed at GLC (elevator, boilers, etc.). Provide a monthly Council report. Supervise the full-time custodian. Maintain manuals and information on equipment. Work with groups using GLC to coordinate calendar and set-up for available spaces.
Minimum qualifications include:
· A solid understanding of property maintenance.
· Experience with boilers and/or HVAC.
· Basic repair skills.
· Willingness to learn the current HVAC system.
· Understanding of the budgeting process
- Excellent oral, written, and computer-based communication skills
- Experience in a church setting, preferred
- Pass a background check.
