Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. You will work closely with clients in assisted living or long-term care settings, helping them achieve their personal goals while maintaining their dignity and independence.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Provide direct support to clients, fostering an environment of encouragement and empowerment.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain skills in CPR and patient observation.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement.
- Support clients with hospice care needs as required, ensuring comfort during end-of-life stages.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client health and behavior effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards assisting individuals with diverse needs is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
