As part of our team, you’ll engage in diverse engineering tasks across a variety of heavy civil projects, each varying in size, complexity, and duration. Throughout your career, you’ll also contribute to our district estimating unit, where responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost analysis, estimate reviews, and bid closeouts.
Responsibilities
- Interpret drawings and specifications to guide field crews and craft supervisors.
- Perform quantity calculations by measuring and determining the percentage of completed materials and work.
- Help prepare work plans and work packages for efficient project execution.
- Provide field surveying and layout support, including setting elevations, control points, and compiling as-built data.
- Review, compile, and verify daily labor timesheets.
- Contribute to creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure workplace safety.
- Offer solutions for earthmoving, transportation, roadways, water resources, underground utilities, and other construction operations.
- Participate in safety initiatives, including job site safety reviews, toolbox talks, mass safety meetings, and training sessions.
- Coordinate and schedule material deliveries to support project timelines.
- Plan, schedule, and manage workgroups on the job site.
- Supervise field operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform material takeoffs based on drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Conduct basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to assist field operations.
- Support engineers in gathering and preparing data for submittals, transmittals, or internal use.
- Assist in creating purchase orders and subcontracts, including minor solicitations and procurement tasks.
- Update and maintain project schedules as directed.
- Manage project recordkeeping, including daily reports, photographs, RFIs, and memorandums.
- Input data into job cost systems and review cost reports with site management.
- Assist in preparing change orders and compiling as-built data for review by the Project Manager.
- Provide field support and oversee subcontractor operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of civil engineering
- Candidate should have a minimum of one year in the construction industry
- Experience in project management software like Procore
- Ability to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requires
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Efficient and Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

Salary : $58,000 - $75,000
