Summary
As a Director of Practice Operations, responsibilities include planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, and controlling the operations of all assigned practices. The Practice Operations Director works collaboratively with practice physicians to ensure the efficient and effective daily operation of the practice including, but not limited to, the supervision and evaluation of the practice staff and all practice operations, budget management and financial oversight and review, and business process analysis and redesign when warranted.
Job Description
Supervise and advise the managers/supervisors at assigned practices and support them in managing the practice. Support includes, but is not limited to:
Analyzing access (lead time) and patient throughput (cycle time) and provider/schedule utilization
Optimize provider templates
Understanding and improving customer satisfaction, productivity analysis and efficiency studies
Providing human resource management and development.
Partner with nurse leader and Medical Director including regular meetings
Responsible for the financial viability of Grady practices as assigned including, but not limited to:
Monitoring progress against budget
Requesting and implementing capital expenditures
Planning and managing operating budget on a practice by practice level
Serve as partner to Medical Director/Service/Section Chief, physicians, and providers in assigned practices and liaison between physicians and Administration.
Ensure Providers At Assigned Practices Understand Their Obligations:
Facilitate monthly provider meetings within assigned practices alongside the Medical Director.
Act as resource for special task forces throughout Grady representing ambulatory division as needed.
Ensure service excellence goals and needs are addressed
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration or related discipline
Experience
Minimum five years management experience within a hospital or physician practice operation
Able to demonstrate experience with identifying opportunities and managing change.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or MHA
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with physicians
Strong command of the principles associated with financial analysis, strategic planning, physician practice operations, and healthcare information systems
Demonstrated skills and aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development and time management
Demonstrates the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities:
